vmware authd[general] 

My mouse suddenly started jerking in vmware and host every 2 seconds or so. (host = XP with service pack, guest = SUSE 8.0). the vmware authd Process seems to be the bad guy. 

Mike in newsgroup vmware.for-windowsnt.experimental has follwing solution: If you have administrator privileges, you can stop and disable that service. It's only needed if you want to run VMware from a non-admin account.
