Heavenly
once upon a dream
on a marvelous night
i celebrated the evening
with my love at first sight
i remember dreaming
of stars shining bright
and we were having a party
underneath the radiant light
we stood hand in hand
amidst a throng of faces
in my childhood neighborhood
of all the dreamland places
the streets were paved of grass
in my land of deja vu
and the sky was hanging so low
you could jump and touch the blue
there were so many stars
with answers for us to glean
but far too many that night
for them all to be seen
the stars were twirling
around and around
in a clockwise spiral
they wound and wound
they flashed and sparkled
in a celestial firework display
spinning around so fast
like little children at play
we gazed at the stars
to see what we might find
bathing in the serenity
of a Heavenly kind
'look! what beautiful twin stars!'
she pointed out with childlike glee
'i wonder what it's like
to be spinning around so free!'
'they seem so much like a couple
dancing a circular dance
setting aside their worries
taking a chance in chance'
'could there be someone up there?
up there in the sky...
gazing at the stars
just like you and i?'
